About Mark Janke the Teacher
I am a high school teacher in Washington state. I have taught at the secondary level for nine years (that’s a lot of teens!). One of my favorite subjects to teach is American History.
In the fall of 2009, I was one of 8 teachers invited to the United States Library of Congress for a special week of instruction and research in our nation’s most important library. In my research, I had the privilege of reading books which Thomas Jefferson used in his own library, breathed over a rough draft of the declaration of independence, and spent some time with many of the North American explorer’s journals.
It was while I was in our nation’s capitol that I felt I had found the place where my dream of making this educational film could be realized. Since that time, I have added more sponsors for this project & it is a privilege to work with so many great institutions. I know the final product will be great because of all of the historians, businesses, universities, and RV enthusiasts who believe in it and want it to succeed.
